So I got both a DD and a Facebook feature for my LA piece yesterday, and it finally just hit me how amazing this place is. All the love and support I've gotten here is mind-boggling to me. I would even go as far as to say that it's made my career. This is where I found my "audience", my first industry connections, fellow artist friends etc. This is where I first saw Dan LuVisi's King Kong piece and stared at it in awe for hours, and then had my mind blown the day I found out that both him and Rahll (Reid Southen) knew who I was! I mean, these were guys I was idolizing like fucking movie stars, and today I consider these guys to be good friends, even though I still havne't met either of them.. (I think they're just intimidated by me sexually.) But anyway, I always knew I could draw, based on the reactions from people around me, but I also always considered myself a complete nobody. Perhaps because I was such a fucking deadbeat loser in "real life", getting fired from jobs in grocery stores, hating every job I ever had, never having any dreams or visions up to the age of 24. Then I joined dA and discovered how much fun it was to start working on a portfolio, and all of sudden ppl recognized my name thanks to my art! I was posting here like crazy, almost every day. After a year I started working at RealtimeUK (yes, in the UK lol) and this was during the recession in 2008, so "thankfully" we had a lot of downtime. This meant I could spend my days at the office painting personal stuff and posting it to dA like a maniac! I think that's what made me interesting to watch during that period, because I would always have something new to show and I knew I was showing some improvement every once in a while.
Then came Oblivion and I got to meet more people in the industry, and more and more insanely cool job offers started to pop up, and here I am. I can't say that I'm living my dream, because I never really had any dreams. I only know I have a great life, I get to do what I love every day and I know that it's thanks to people like you, and it's thanks to this site.

So yeah, Deviantart and all you fellow deviants, you are effin' awesome!

Hey guys!

I'm a co-founder of Vanquish Interactive, a company that is currently producing a graphic novel called Telikos Protocol, written by Peter Cooper and illustrated by an amazing concept artist called Adam Burn, who's got a great cinematic style (see images below).

Right now the guys are finalizing the first issue, and in order to get funds for this venture we've started a kickstarter page that has already exceeded our expectations! Telikos Protocol was just named the Editor's #1 Top Pick on Kickstarter and it's already raised $25k, which is incredible in such a short period of time. You can get a lot of cool stuff as a backer, as well as making sure Adam and Peter can start working on the next volumes, so if you're interested in amazing art and cool sci-fi stories you should definitely check it out!

Greetings from sunny Las Vegas! I’m happy to announce that I now have a small selection of prints available at WallArtRockers.com ( [link] )! Now, these prints are not your ordinary prints, they’re big acrylic panels with aluminium wall fixings and they look amazing! I realize that these are somewhat pricey but I really wanted the best possible quality, and when WallArtRockers came to me with this idea I was sold right away!
This is obviously still in its infancy, so I’ll make sure to keep you all posted as we expand our galleries and printing options.
In other news I’m busy as ever, which would explain my lack of updates. However, I have plenty of stuff to show you in due time so keep an eye out! Now it’s time to jump on a plane and get back home to Sweden.

Hey guys!

I felt it was about time for an update! Omg where do I begin...

As you may have noticed I don't spend as much time here as I once did, please blame my clients for that!! I've been buried with work, last year was just crazy. I practically lived in front of my computer, which made 2010 incredibly boring (though I got to spend a week in NYC, my fav city in the world). Working from home really takes it out of you, especially the creativity. Whenever I had a free moment I was too tired and too uninspired to create anything. However, I did get to work on some awesome projects. I actually got to work on a movie project for motherflippin' Disney!! If I'd known that when I first joined this place... I did some concept work on the Voltron project which some of you may have seen already, and I also got to do some work for The Jim Henson co (which was a f-ing blast!) among others. So workwise it's been an overwhelming year.

This may start to sound like a cliché but I would say that a lot of this is thanks to deviantart. Without the incredible support and love that I've been given through this place I don't think that I would've worked so hard and improved as quickly as I did, and without all that hard work I would never have had the opportunity to work on some of these projects. So, once again, thank you all so very, very much! You have no idea what your comments and favs has meant to me these past few years.

Now for 2011 I have even more exciting stuff coming up, unfortunately not much that I can talk about yet. One thing that I can mention though is that prints are on the way. Believe it or not but I do have something planned, it's something out of the ordinary so please have patience. Hopefully I will have some more info on this soon! I also hope that I can be more active here again, I've missed it so much..

Even if you should hate my art I guarantee you you'll love the story, I'm reading the latest draft right now and it is A-MAZING!!! Being a fan of postapocalyptic stories this is just right up my alley. It's like a cross between all my favourite movies and I can't F-ing wait for this to become a motion picture.

Like I said earlier the art is very different from what I usually do - while most of my personal stuff is very Michael Bayish in the style Oblivion is quite the opposite; dark, gritty and sometimes very sparse color palettes to enhance the toxic and dangerous feel to the world, but still extremely varied.

Finally I'm pleased to announce that we have a "beta"-version of the new site up and running (there's just a few minor fixes left)! I'm super happy with how it turned out, it's a very sleek and clean design and the image-viewing is simply delicious; fast and super-smooth (all without the use of flash)! Right now most of the work is stuff you've already seen but I have some goodies in there that I haven't posted here before, some client-work from last year. This site will be the primary home of my art from now on, or at least the client-work, but ofc I'll still continue to post stuff here too. Well, as long as we can upload our deviations  in fullsize that is.. It'll also be more frequently updated with news and whatnot.
The man behind this site is a very dedicated man by the name of David Boni, [link] , and he's done an outstanding job with the site. Thanks so much for all the hard work you've put into this buddy!!! I'd also like to give a big shout out to Carson Perrotti, [link] , for helping out David with a lot of the coding and all the stuff us immortals have no idea how to figure out.

Oblivion is such a challenge on so many levels and the most important experience for me as an artist yet. The fact that it's both a book and a movie makes it so exciting AND demanding. As you can see, my focus in the beginning of these detailed illustrations/concepts is not to make a nice sketch but quite the opposite - keep it extremely rough to in order to being able to nail the composition at an early stage. That way you can get into detail much more quickly.

Make sure you get a hold of the next volume of Digital Art Masters (volume 5, will be available this summer I think) where I explain my process for one of my paintings much more thoroughly.

I felt it was time for some kind of update before christmas and new years. I'd planned to make a painting to accompany this post with as well, but work has just been crazy lately so it's put on hold until I get some free time.

Workwise it's basically just been about Oblivion for a while now. I barely have time for any other project or job. But what is Oblivion?



"From Joseph Kosinski, visionary director of Disney's TRON LEGACY, comes a science fiction tale unlike any other.

In a post-apocalyptic Earth, civilization lives above the clouds and scavengers illegally collect artifacts from the polluted and destroyed surface below. But when one young scavenger discovers a crashed spacecraft planetside- and a beautiful woman within- he rejoices at the find. Little does he realize that his discovery will lead him to a journey filled with romance, adventure and unimaginable danger."

So anyway, my job is to create ~40 concept illustrations for this story developed by Kosinski and Radical, and it's going to be released as a "hybrid graphic novel" in wide screen format, giving the book a very cinematic feel. It will feature a variety of paintings by me, some the most complex pieces I've ever done and some very.. well different from what I usually paint!

This project is also going to be developed into a movie, but I'll have more info on that later. I wish I could post some teasers but unfortunately you're gonna have to wait another six months for that. :/ But hopefully it'll be worth the wait!
In the meantime I'll do my best to make some personal pieces for you (and for myself as well, I need to clear my head from work soon I think).

You've all made 2009 a great year for me and a big part of my progression as an artist is thanks to all of you and your amazing support! First of all, glad to see I have so many BBT fans watching me..

Anyways, I might have time for some personal art in the coming few day and I want to do something big and cool. The problem is I'm all out of inspiration at the moment. Hey guys,

I thought it was about time for an update on my life! Thanks Adonihs for reminding me so kindly

I'm now a full time freelance artist operating from my home town in Sweden. I never imagined it would be nice to come home to this small village again after my travels lately, but it turns out to be the best thing in a long time! I lived in Stockholm for a year, then another year in UK and then I was set on moving to California, since I was there for a job interview a while ago. However I did not get that particular job but I did get two awesome weeks in the US, one in vegas and one in NYC. Everytime I'm over there I'm amazed by how friendly and open you americans are! I always have the best time when I'm there.


You may have noticed a lack of updates recently and I apologize for that. To be honest, I've mostly been enjoying life. Spending time with my family and my friends, reading, traveling, sleeping.. all the good stuff. But lately I've been pretty busy:

Right now I'm imvolved in a project for Sega with the team from RealtimeUK which you'll see more of later.

The biggest and most exciting news is unfortunately a project I'm not allowed to talk about... Let's just say I will be working on something HUGE which you'll see the result of next year! If you like my art you will most likely be pleased.

I also had the pleasure of doing some commissioned art for Tim Story (director of Fantastic Four) recently and I had a blast! I'm hoping to work more with Tim in the future.

I'm also scheduled to teach some mattepainting/concept art at Digital Graphics, a 2D/3D education in Stockholm later this fall. So if you're a student there maybe I'll be seeing you in a few months.
